Fourteen teams enjoyed a wonderful day at Alwoodley Golf Course on 4th August and raised £8,000 during the first ever Cookridge Cancer Centre Golf Tournament. Perfect weather conditions ensured a timely shotgun start at 2.00 p.m.
Gask & Hawley carried off the trophy with 88 points, with runners up Barry Clancey's team scoring 86 points. The Ladies of East Bierley Golf Club came in an impressive third with 83 points and were also the Yellow Ball winners.
A drinks reception and dinner was the perfect end to a most enjoyable day with entertainment from comedian Billy Bean. The financial result was good too with over £8,000 raised for the Cancer Centre.
